ポケットの中にはビスケット

“ポーケットの中にはビスケットが１つ、もうひとつたたけばビスケットが２つ”とどんどん増えるポケット、ありえないけどいいなと思っていた。今になって曲をきいてみると、最後に“そーんなポッケとが欲しい”となっている！！びっくりしました。今までしらなかった。

There is a song in Japan. "There is a biscuit in my pocket. When I hit my pocket one time, there will be two biscuits" I knew it is not the true story, but I liked the song. However, I listen the music recently, I realized it said at the end " l want to have the pocket like that" Wow. I didn't know.

Tea

Open House Benefit for Earthquake Relief

Uraseke Tea Ceremony Society is holding an open house from 10 AM to 4PM.
There will be twelves sittings that will be served on the half of an hour in our tatami mat rooms. This is a rate opportunity to hold "Open House" in the Center. Attendees will experiene sharing a bowl of tea and sweets in traditional tearooms constructed in Japan and installed by Kyoto craftsmen.

In reagard to tearoom etiquette you should be aware of certain issues. Shoes are removed before entering the tatami mat area. Sometimes people choose to wear white socks, but this not necessary.

東日本大震災復興支援チャリティ展「Art for Tomorrow」 の会期中にワークショップ

知人が東日本大震災復興支援チャリティ展「Art for Tomorrow」
の会期中にワークショップをします。

There is a charity show "Art for Tomorrow" for the Tohoku Earthquake.

My friend, Manika Nagare will have a workshop for children.

Her work will be exhibited there.

大きな細長い紙を床に広げて、思いっきり好きなように描く。
それを一本の糸として布を織るように、その紙を縦横に織り込む。
それぞれの絵(糸)が一枚の絵(布)となる。

どんな色になってるかな。どんな模様に見えるかな。

「つむごう」は今後も開催し、撮影画像をPCにて升目上に配置します。
すると、更に色々な模様や色の混ざった大きな布地ができあがります！
各ワークショップで制作された「つむごう」のピースをつないでいき、
おおきな「つむごう」に育てていきます。
ちいさな「つむごう」がやがておおきな「つむごう」に育ちます。

（終了後、作品は等分してお持ち帰り頂けます。）

Events: St Marks Church Charity Free-market

3月11日に東北地方を襲ったM9の東北関東大震災では、その後、発生した津波と火災により甚大な被害が広範囲に渡りました。多くの方が家族を失い、未だ多くの方が行方不明です。また、建物への被害も莫大で、未だ26万人以上の人が避難生活を強いられています。これらの被災地の復興と再建には、できるだけ多くの人による長期的な支援が必要とされています。

NY (NYで子育てをする日本人のためのグループ http://nymoms.exblog.jp/）思いからセイント・マークス、同じ子育て中の私たちにとって、被災地の親や子供達の置かれている状況は、本当に心が痛む限りであり、今回の収益金は、震災により親や家族を失った子供達を支援するあしなが育英会（http://www.ashinaga.org/) に100％寄付されます。

earthquake

Today, our TV was broken. I thought it was kind of good for me. The last few days I was watching the news of earthquake. More I watched the news more I felt sad. I feel like reconfirming how the situation is devastated.

Thinking of people, I didn't know I should have enjoyed my daily life, even though I couldn't do anything.

I went out today, had lunch and spent a quiet afternoon.

Many moments, I thought about the people in Japan.

Luckily, non of my family and friends were injured, but there are so many people are still suffering and waiting for the help.

I recalled the similar feeling when I was in New York during the 911. I was away from New York city, and standing the beach. I saw many people were laying on the beach seems to be enjoying the beautiful day. I know they couldn't do anything as like me, however it was so strange feeling.

So calm beach were continuing in front of me, but it wasn't. It would be connecting to Manhattan where so many people were in troubles.

雪

最近ニューヨークは雪。外は真っ白になって、汚いものを全部かくしてしまうので、雪の日のニューヨークはとても奇麗にみえる。ニューヨークはモノクロの似合う街。雪の降る日は白でおおわれて、モノクロのようにみえる。

It has been snowing recently. New York was covered by white snow. Since We don't see messy parts of New York, New York looks clean. When it is snowing, the city looks like monochrome photographs. I like monochrome New York.
